17 months but only 17 1/2 lbs and fed up of the reclined position of a rear facing car seat

hi all,
my 17 month old is only 17 1/2 lbs and is way off being heavy enough to go into a forward facing seat. she is however fed up of the reclined position of her current Maxi cosi cabrio fix seat and just tries to sit up when we put her in it. she's gone from being happy in the car to crying most of the time and i'm sure it's because she wants to sit up. i've been looking at seats that go from birth to 4 years but all the ones i can find say you have to have them reclined in the rear facing option. has anyone found a seat that i could use rear facing without it having to be reclined?

My DS (27 months and 27lbs) is very happy in his Britax Two Way Elite. He's a lot more upright plus higher up than when he was in his baby seat. He's still rear facing without any complaints. Well worth looking at this seat esp if you want to keep them rear facing for as long as possible.

Another happy baby in the TWE here. She still fits her baby seat but doesn't like it.

Loopy- I assumed typo ?

hi, i have a britax hi-way 2, it is suitable from birth to 25kgs, is rf, much higher up than the cabrio and is the same price as the twe. ds 11 months hates his cabrio but loves the hi-way, he can see much more than the back of the seat and the side of the door!

:)

get a be safe izi combi. My DD was the same, at 15 months she was sobbing and screaming and hating the car as she couldn't see (she was about 7kg IIRC) into the besafe and she loved the car again. she's happy in it now at 2.4 and 10kg and will stay in it til she's too tall (as it goes to 18kg and she'll be 8 before that happens!)
