Going to be getting a TWE for dd3 next. She's not grown out of the old one yet but

wondering if I got it now it would be ok to use as a second car seat.

She now swaps between my car & dh car. She has a britax baby seat on isofix in my car/seatbelt in dh car. Wondering about getting the TWE now to use in dh car so that it's less swapping as my mum now looks after her one day a week & that's another car in the mix.

Also the car seat keeps going to work with us Blush

Sp basically I'm wondering is dd3 as safe inthe TWE as in her baby seat? I'm thinking of getting the head rest thing is it worth it?

1 next week, approx 9.5-10kg.

I assume you mean rear facing. I think it has a minimum weight of 9kg (do check, rather than taking my word for it).

Could you borrow a baby seat from someone you know and trust?

Yes it does but I have got so v paranoid about seats & can't make decisions Blush

Y to rear facing.

Would the baby seat be massively safer or is there not much difference ?

No on borrowing. Don't know anyone else with a baby.

I think she's as safe in an ERF seat as a baby carrier, as long as it has good side impact protection.

I think if she can sit up unaided (or at least not slump in a few minutes I would be happy to use the TWE. It does have good side impact but if you are worried could you install it in the middle? If you do that you have one tether on the driver's seat and one on the passenger's rather than them coming from just one seat.

Admittedly though the youngest mine have been in the TWE is about 2 but that is because we also have a Nordic Secura which is amazing for younger ones as it has a really laid back recline.

It used to be installed next to our First Class (DD3 was in the FC & DD2 in the NS) and the NS had a flatter recline even including the infant insert in the FC. DD3 would have been newborn and DD2 was about 2y/o then and the 2y/o had a better angle for oxygen sats and sleepingHmm.

I think I may have shed a tear or two when I found out the NS was discontinued Sad I would have loved 2 of them then DD1 could be harnessed until she was 7!!

My DS went into the TWE at 8 months, I placed it behind my seat so that the recline could be better. DS (now 24months) was fine in it, he could sleep easily and also enjoyed the space. He now has the seat in the more upright mode and doesn't complain, his head lolls a bit of he falls asleep, but he sleeps so rarely in the day now that it isn't a prob. He is still rear facing without any issues. My 6.5yr old recently outgrew (height wise) the TWE in FF mode, so it lasted yonks!

I wouldn't use it for a child below 9kg as I wouldn't be confident that they were secure in the straps and the sides of the TWE are very low compared to a normal baby seat.

She's bigger than 9kg. Last time she was writes she was 9.2 & that was ages ago.

i would use it, i moved ds2 at 7 months to his-at hi-way 2 and ds1 to his twe at 9 months. as long as the recline is good, and it can be as much as your baby seat with the twe.

i'd use it. ds3 was in his at 5 months which is when he hit 9kg!!!

In that case I'd use it. And I would get the head rest. We got ours at the In Car Safety Centre in Milton Keynes and got the head rest too - I think they consider it a necessity (I really rated their knowledge and service). DD has been in hers since 11mo. Sorry - I didn't notice your post with her age and weight. You probably want to consider which is going to be the easier seat to switch between cars if there are 2 seats and 3 cars. You can get a spare pair of tethers for the TWE, but we just bought one for each of our cars. If you can afford it and intend to have 2 TWE eventually then you could have 3 seats on the go for the moment.

She doesn't go in my mums car really. Were thinking about 2 seats but for now don't think we will bother. Was going for 3 sets of tethers though.

Milton Keynes suggested the TWE, only one for dh car & that's the main car for going out in. Mycar is mainly usedfor whoever is at work.

Hi. I moved my DS into his TWE when he was 10 months and used it in the reclined position. Its just a lovely seat, id say go for it.

It came today. Not put it in the car yet but dd3 liked it in the house!
