What's the best seven seater around? Or should we just get a landy and have done with it?

I would prefer something you can hose down, I mean inside, iykwim Grin

We've four children between us at present and thinking about another. So theoretically we will need a bigger car...we have two at the moment and normally end up with one of us driving one car and most or all of the kids squashed in.

I'm clueless about what's out there for this size family so if anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful. Smile

We used to have a multipla, they are fab, it died recently of gearbox failure. They have stopped making them and they are hard to find secondhand (like us people seem to keep them forever!).

We just hired a Caddy on holiday - boy oh boy is there space in there!

cuddlysmurf · 16/08/2011 10:07

Have a look at the Chevrolet Captiva too - seats 7 adults and gives them legroom too, and has a huge boot when you wave your wand at the 3rd row of seats and stash them away Wink

Tis a bit if a monster truck though .... I love ours Grin

Oh I didn't know they'd stopped making the multipla. What a shame.

I can't remember what I said in my original post...we're great fans of the Peugeot 5008. Car of the year 2010, nice to drive if you get the right engine and super spacey. You need a model with over 150 bhp, mpg have been v good so far too. They're quite news not many people have them yet. Worth a test drive.

We have a toyota verso and I love it. We previously has a Zafira and I hated it with a passion despite lots of our friends having it and liking it (the moral of this story is not to buy a car on the strength of other people's recommendations! Wink)

sleepevader · 18/08/2011 22:24

Dont fear- multipas are still made!

I'd second the Toyota Previa or rather the Japanese import versions Lucida / Estima. The 7 seater is (as opposed to the 8 seater) is brilliant because it has 2 swivelling captain's seats in the middle row, rather than a bench, so you can change the layout instantly. Brilliant for doing up seatbelts and harnesses. Plus plenty of bootspace, sliding doors and you can actually sleep 2 people in it! Feels really spacious because of the 'central aisle' although the 7th seat (middle back row) is pretty uncomfortable for adults and anyone very wide would not manage it with carseats on each side.
Have never felt passionate about a car before and will miss ours when it finally has to be put down (is 18yrs old.)

We havre a Kia Caren. I use it as a 5 seater most of the time, with the back seats up when we have visitors. It's nice to drive but I wouldn't reccommend putting carseats in the back seat as they're a pita to try to get to to do the straps. I have sat in the back however and it was ok. Loads of cup holderrs and little hidely holes for stuff. Didn't know that parts where expensive though:( Not that I know from experience, just from further down in the thread.
