rear facing car seats for children from 9 months

can anyone recommend a carseat which is rear facing, doesn't have an isofix and will fit a vauxhall astra. I watched the video about why you should use a rear facing car seat instead of a forward facing one. Most seem to be rear facing until 15 months instead of the recommended 4-5 years. Many thanks

We've got a Britax two way elite which fits fine into the back of our tiny Alfa and is tethered to the passenger seat rather than being isofix. It's good up to 55lbs/25kg I think. There's a review of it here.

Thanks for your help, I was beginning to think I was going insane and I was definitely wandering around the websites in circles, visiting the same sites several times, each time thinking I was going to a new site. Does your child get bored looking backwards?

My daughter is in an isofix besafe so no help with your original question. However, she has never come across as bored. Her view is out of the back and out of the side (better than just the side and the back of the seat in front like a forward-facer). I have a mirror in front of her that means we can see each other in my rear-view too. DD loves being able to wave goodbye to her GP etc when we leave somewhere.

No, they don't get bored. Instead of gazing at the front passenger head rest they get to look at busea ans lorries out of the back window!

Hiya, my LO doesnt get bored RFing as we have a mirror in the back so that he has an all round view of the car now. He even knows where to look in the mirror so that he can see me in it. Not had any complaints from him yet and he is 2 so would quite happily let me know if he wasnt happy :-)

My LO doesn't get bored rfing as she usually has her dbro sitting behind her. If he's not ther she can have a nap.
The Brio rf facing seat doesn't have isofix and is a good seat

My DS (22months) is in a Two Way Elite. He isn't bored as he just looks out the windows. I have take the head rest off the seat his carseat is attached too so he has a better view out the back window. He just looks at books or plays with his cars.
We got ours from the incarsafety center...it arrived 48 hours later!

I would definitely "fourth" the britax 2 way elite.

I showed it to another MN'er before, who wanted to see if it fitted in a Nissan Micra, it did! very nicely in fact.

I have 2 rear-facing at the moment and they don't get bored at all, in fact I think they can see more from the sides and out of the back than they could forward facing

DS is 2 and a half and never gets bored. He has a good view from the window - it's just a reversed one! He reads books now and plays with small toys as well. He's used to it, but he's also been in a front facing seat at his aunts, so he can't feel deprived by ours! He actually loves cars and car journeys.
