Old 3 door Nissan Micra, can I get a RF car seat that will fit in it?

Hi,

Basically the above, I've got a three door micra and I want my LO to stay RF ideally. I've seen the maxi cosi opal and it seems like it would be an ideal compromise as it looks like I wouldn't have to tether it to the seats but this will hopefully hold us until we can get a bigger car.

Is this an option?

It is only rearfacing from birth to 13 kg, which is only the same as the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix baby seat but it would be a good solution if the problem that your LO is still under 13 kg but is too big/tall for their baby seat, because the Opal is bigger than than an infant carrier.

The only problem I've heard of with them is that you need quite long seat belts to be able to fit it. Can you go in store somewhere to try it out?

Otherwise, I think the Britax Two Way Elite is the smallest fitting RF seat, though I could be wrong. I don't think it would leave much room in the front though. You could look into turning off the airbag and putting an RF seat in the front passenger seat maybe, not sure how that compares safety wise with a FF seat in the rear though TBH.

I had a Besafe Izi Isofix X3 in a Nissan Micra 3 dr and it was fine. You could still get a passenger in the front seat as long as they were under 5'10". The front seat has to be pushed back against the childseat as it is one of the additional 'reinforcement' points.
