we need a birth to four years RF seat for grannys car as dd is fast growing out of her 0-9m one.

we tried the britax first class that we have in our saab in grannys car and it hangs over the edge of the seat.

none of the ones at the (small) hafords near us fitted either. i am amazed that a family car has been made with, apparently, no thought or consideration for car seats!

really don't want to put dd FF as i have got the fear from reading about internal decapitation.

any recommendations?

Contact the people at the incar safety centre They're really helpful and will know which rf seats fit most popular cars.

Bamboobutton, what did you go for in the end? It might be useful for others with the same dilemma :)

i went for the maxi cosi opal

but the opal is only rear-facing to 13kg and then you have to switch it, so not a real ERF seat.

perhaps i should've been more clear in OP. i don't want dd to go FF yet, at 9mo she is too small.

ds is only just 13kg at 3yo, so dd will get a good few years RF. the £300ish they charge for proper RF seats is a bit much to pay when it is for grannys car and will only be used once a week. we can't afford to buy 2 RF seats, let alone 4, which is what we would need for both cars.
