My children are RF but I'm posting this for a friend who's just broken the MC Tobi her almost 3 year old daughter uses and needs a replacement . Bearing in mind her daughter's only likely to be in it for a year she's trying to find out the most cost effective solution and I'm wondering can anyone tell me what are the current safest/best buy forward facing seats and also which to avoid?

i would go for a 1-2-3 group seat, or one with a impact cushion, then it will do her until she is 18kg

im going to go for similart to these ones for my 3 kids

the britax evolva 123 is a good seat too,a bit tricky to fit the first few times, but solid when fitted properly.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I suggested to her. I think the Britax got a good Which? score didn't it?

Is the Cybex Pallas better than the Kiddi Infinity Pro?

i think they are much the same tbh,i havent seen either one in rl,the kiddi one looks much lighter than the cybex one,

which doesnt tend to rate the evolva,(or any other seat that covers 3 stages)because they say its better to have a different seat for each stage.i wouldnt use an evolva for a 9mo,but its fab for an older toddler

I think the infinity pro only goes up to 18kg then she would need to buy a hhb anyway. A friend of mine just bought this for her 12mth old and i realy cant see him still being in it when hes 2 never mind 3 he already looks a bit squished in there!! Kiddy also do a gardian pro that is bigger it uses the impact sheild until 18kg then u just use it as a hhb. Might be worth her looking at if britax one dosent fit.

yep mybootsaremuddy, it was the other kiddy one i was thinking that does 9m-12y,the infinity is a 9m-4yrs seat i think?

if she is only 3,it will prob be a while til she is 18kg, and once she is 18kg,all these seats still last her,you just stop using it with the impact cushion and use it as a normal high backed booster seat.with the evolva, you take the harness off once they reach 18kg and use it with a normal seatbelt too,
so they will all last until she is out a booster altogether
