As the title suggests really.

Ds2 suffers from severe reflux. This makes car journey's unbearable as he just screams in pain every time he goes in the car seat.

He's currently in a maxi cosi cabrio.

Can anyone recommend a seat? I was thinking a more upright one. He has excellent head control but will put additional head hugger in if needs be. It either has to be cheap as we will be getting a britax 2way elite eventually as we definitely plan to keep him rear facing until he's around 4yrs old, or an extended rear facing that's suitable from birth.

Any suggestions, Please.....

We have just changed my ds2 14 weeks car seat for this very reason. Did have the cabriofix and he screamed when in it, tried taking the foam support out to make it more upright but he still seemed quite curled at the tummy in it and was definitely unhappy.

I have brought the new maxi cosi infant seat the pebble, the seating angle doesn't seem that much different but it seems to allow his tummy not to be squashed up.

Whatever the reason he does not scream in this chair and has not since the first journey, he even goes to sleep it Shock. This did not coincide with any change in his reflux meds either.

My ds1 is in a britax TWE and he did not go into that until he was 15 months from his infant seat and I would not have wanted him in that seat from any earlier but I have no experience of the Izi one.

It may seem excessive to get another infant seat but I was sure I was going to end up crashing with the constant screaming. Do you have a big nursery shop nearby where you could try him in various car seats to see if any are more comfy for him?

I've messaged you elsewhere - but the KISS might be a good option. It can be belt fitted or isofix, doesn't require tethers, keeps them rearfacing from birth till 4 and has three very definite positions- one very flat for new born, and then progressively more upright for 3/4 year olds :) I've got a KISS and besafe and am in Devon - pop round and try them both out :)
