Ok - So I was given the above by a friend ( i know the full history - no accidents and we're broke)just need to buy the base.

It's been in her garage for a few months so smelled a bit musty. I took the covers off (and sun screen cover came off)following the instructions in the book - that took long enough but putting them back on again - what a pain in the bum.

There are two tiny tiny tiny little hooks behind a massive piece of plastic which pulls back a bit but doesn't come off and the tint tiny elastic rings to attatch to said hook are so small i don'tthink i'm ever going to get it back on again.

My fingers are red raw from trying to hook it on and i'm so stressed out - any tips?

ooh where are you? I have lots of experience!
If they're the ones I think you mean (right at the bottom, under the circular thing) don't hook them on using your finger and thumb, just kind of use your finger to guide them into the right place and try to drop them onto the hooks

StealthPomBear · 20/11/2010 07:50

actually, are you in Teesside? :o

smoggii · 20/11/2010 08:23

Thanks for the advice, I'm in South Wales but if i continue to struggle Teeside isn't that long a drive lol!

They are the hooks i'm talking about - i will try your method and see how it goes, fingers crossed.

One thing i've learned since becoming pregnant - currently 35 weeks - is that baby stuff is a complicated pain in the bum and packaged in such a way that you need a degree to get it out of the packaging and a PhD before you can actually work anything grrrr

You just wait till you buy toys with wire ties :o
Good luck - let me know if you want more explanantion

i used my tweezers to guide it into the hook, while holding the plastic part back out of the way,did takr a few tries but got there in the end!

Had no luck with finger gliding so far. Going to try tweezers now.

The cot mobile was packaged with wire toys it nearly got thrown out of the window!

lol at finger gliding
If it's any consolation iirc that was the hardest bit!

StealthPomBear · 21/11/2010 08:57

did you manage?

sillysow · 25/11/2010 11:45

I used an electrical screwdriver to tease it over - but yes it cause much much cursing!!!

smoggii · 27/11/2010 21:15

I gave up, I've just tucked it into the plastic bit when i closed it - it seems pretty secure so i'm not going to sweat it.

I sound like a quitter but i have been trying all week and then DH tried for an hour this morning and it put him in such a grump i thought it better to save our marriage lol
