I'm expecting DS2 in a few weeks and have just dug the seat (in it's box) out of the loft. The cover really, really needs a wash but i can't work out how to remove the cover let alone putting it back together again.

Has anyone managed this or is it a clever way for maxi cosi to get me to buy a new seat? I can't possibly put a new born in it as it is.

I managed to wash mine a week or so ago.

It is fiddly to remove the covers but it is possible.

If you dig about under the cover by where the handle attaches to the seat there is 2 tiny hooks that the elastic is hooked on. Once you've got that bit off the rest is pretty easy.

yes, I've done it a few times, as lifeas says, start from the bottom and work up.

and let me know if you get stuck as I have become something of an expert :)

I have a few times now - you have to unhook everything - make sure you memorise how it all fits back together though as it can be confusing.

Thanks everyone. Going to sort out DS with tea, bath and bed and have another go. Think i'd better get DH to watch as my brain will not remember which bit goes where at the moment.

SPB, i may be yelling for you later Grin

oh and if you have any inquisitive babies/toddlers don't leave the uncovered seat in their reach - apparently it's very common for them to snap the polysterene insert, as mine did Angry. Was £12.99 and 6 weeks before I got a new one - didn't matter to me as I was only pg but imagine if you needed it!

Thanks for the advice. I will keep it out of DS's way as he does like to "help".

SPB, where did you get the new polysterene from? The innevitable has happened and DH has cracked it!

Would rather pay £12.99 than £112.00 for a new one! Hopefully we won't have to wait six weeks though.

I ordered it through Halfords (which I think is where I bought the seat from in the first place but I'm sure it doesn't have to be)

How on earth did your DH snap it???
