Hello all those fellow rear car seaters! I've just noticed that in the one place that most mums look before buying their next car seat (the reviews section) there are no reviews at all for the TWE (or any of the other main RF car seats

If lots of you are able to do a review, we'll get it up there under peoples noses at the point when they're thinking about buying their next seat would you be able to do the honours?

This is the link to add a review

www.mumsnet.com/Reviews/CarSeatsFromNineMonths?add_unlisted=1

Thanks all

cool

technically the TWE could be used prior to 9 mon ths tho as it works on a weight limit (due to being rear-facing)
ds3 went into his at around 6 months as he was already 9kg!

but off to add my review anyway

shall i add one for the besafe too which we also have?

Carseatcrazy · 19/07/2010 21:11

yes yes yes please I did a review for my besafe one, and it's come up in the new baby section - but I think it's important for mums looking at buying the next stage seat to be able to see the reviews for that too- so not sure how we alert people to that?....I wonder if mumsnet moderators will put a copy of the reviews in both sections- I'll ask to see

I've just done a review for my KISS too v excited- feels like a great way to get it noticed Lets get these seats voted up there ;)

oh arse, i just added my besafe review to the 9 month one

only because although the besafe is approved from birth, the manufacturers don't actually recommend using it with a newborn do they?
hmm

Carseatcrazy · 19/07/2010 21:24

I'm emailing mumsnet now, but it might be worth copying and pasting your review and entering it twice- once into each section
In the meantime lets hope the moderators can help us (although I have my doubts as I think I've asked this a while back, and got a negative response....)

I've just done one for the TWE

tiredfeet · 20/07/2010 01:20

can someone point me in the direction of somewhere that sells the TWE? I have been researching 2nd car seats, as I want to give DH all the options when we are deciding on the first one, if that makes sense. I can't find the TWE anywhere on the britax website or mothercare...

they're planning on changing the law so that children have to stay rear-facing until 13kg apparently, i read on the rearfacing.co.uk website

getting there slowly

we got our TWE from the in car safety centre., they were lovely there and we tried out nearly all the rear-facing seats they keep there. lovely people

AuntieMaggie · 20/07/2010 13:05

so, typically how old would the child be bfore you switched them to forward facing?

i still can't get used to kg!!!

ds3 was 9kg by 6 months, no idea what he is now lol

bear in mind group 0+ go up to 13kg already, so parents CAN leave their baby rear-facing for that long assuming they haven't outgrown their seat lengthwise

unfortuantely so many poeple take the whole 9 month thing as "yay, 9 month, forward facing it is" regardless of the fact that they can stay rear-facing until they outgrow the seat length AND weightwise

i hope they change it to 13kg and a year or something

AuntieMaggie · 21/07/2010 08:38

So that's still only 2yrs old when in other parts of europe its 4?

I don't have kids (yet) but I think that's silly!

Makes me think that in addition to the reviews, we also need to ask the moderators to put some advice up on screen about potential places to go for advice....like the ladies in essex and the rf website....peoople need to have easy access to good reviews and info, and also links to where to go to get them...
keep reviewing guys the rf seats are starting to get up in the stakes L
