What is biopsies like with sedation?

Hello me again! My mum had biopsies in three areas under sedation this morning. What does this feel like? I live far away like 3 hour drive so I’m wondering if to go see her she will be home later today … but she will have my brother around and other family.

It depends where the biopsies are!

I’ve had biopsies under local only (no sedation) and under GA. The incision site may be sore. She may not be able to wash depending on where it is (mine was on my head, so after one of them, I couldn’t wash my hair for 6 weeks). She may feel groggy due to the sedation itself. It will largely depend on how frail she was to start with. I was solo parenting my then 6 year old 48 hours later as Dh away on a work trip for 2 weeks. It was fine.

In her abdomen in three areas like below liver … that’s where three masses have been identified
