Does this look like a melanoma on DDs toe?

Just spotted this on DD20’s foot. I’m going to get her to GP urgently to get it looked at but does anyone have any thoughts? Does it look like a melanoma?
She thinks she’s had it for about 3 years.

It looks like the freckle I have on my toe but if you’re concerned about it then do get it checked. The general advice is to get them looked at if they have changed shape, colour or size or if they are inflamed,

The mark looks small, flat, and evenly coloured, which usually points away from melanoma.

Things that indicate possible melanoma: assymetric, jagged edges, multiple colours, larger than 6mm, changes in size, shape and sensation.

Obviously see the GP. But it doesn’t match any of that I don’t think.

Always best to get things like this checked just in case.

I recently went to the doctors to have a lesion checked out, turned out it was nothing of concern but they use the ABCDE method, which is: Asymmetry, Border, Colour, Diameter, Evolving

If it meets any of that criteria, they may refer to a specialist but don't worry if they do, it's usually just precaution. I was referred and came away with good news.

To be honest it looks symmetrical, borders look even, also appears to be a normal colour and looks to be smaller than 6mm in diameter. Obviously cannot comment on the Evolving one as don't know what it looked like before.

As previous poster recommended, always best getting checked out with GP but it doesn't seem typical of the ABCDE method.

Do you suffer with health anxiety

I think it’s probably unlikely if she’s had it 3 years and no major changes. I have melanoma. I also have a similar spot like that between my toes, which has been there for decades. It’s just a normal mole. My melanoma appeared from nowhere and grew very quickly in a year, itching and bleeding. I think it’s always good to get things checked, but unless it’s changing rapidly, I think it’s just a normal mole.

Get it checked if you’re concerned.

But that looks entirely normal to me. My daughter has them on her toes, and respectfully, after 3 years, it’s highly unlikely to be anything sinister.

But get it checked if concerned, always.
