New Painful Lump

Not sure what I’m looking for really. Maybe to see if anyone has been in the same boat? Last year I had a breast cyst, it was big, smooth & mobile when I found it & had grown to 7cm by the time I had my appointment. It was aspirated easily & I went on my way. Mammogram noted I have dense breast tissue.

Fast forward to now & I have a new lump in the same breast. This lump is small & hard & the Dr wrote in my notes that it’s irregular & not mobile. It does feel different & is painful, pain in the lump & pain in the nipple, which woke me up last night. It’s not hot & I don’t feel unwell so I don’t think it’s infected or an abscess. I am being seen at the breast clinic next week. Has anyone had similar?

Yes, I had a painful lump and all was ok. Generally speaking pain is a good sign because it is often the sign of an infection or some other inflammation that will clear up. Good luck at the clinic.

My cyst was painful OP especially week before period was due. It’s been drained and no pain now, aside from the usual hormonal breast discomfort.
