Skin cancer appointment

I have an appointment at my local hospital next week after going to my GP about a mole that has changed over the last 6 months.

I haven't had an appointment like this before. I've been to the GP before to have moles checked but I've never been referred to dermatology before.

I'm a redhead with extremely UV sensitive skin. I always cover up, wear a big hat, stay in the shade, use sunblock, but it's impossible to eliminate all risk I suppose.

Anyway, the reason for my post is that I wondered if anyone has experience of such an appointment, and if so, what to expect?

Thank you 🙂

For me, they just looked at the mole under a little magnifying thingy. They were obviously happy it was nothing so sent me on my way. I assume if they’d had any doubts they’d have recommend a biopsy.
