How can I best support my mum through terminal cancer treatment?

Hi, my mum has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, saw the oncologist on Monday and they have said 2.5years maybe more, maybe less, she starts chemotherapy on the 1st of july, so in a week, they are going for 6 rounds and then will rescan to see if it has done anything, and then another 6 rounds and so on.. until her body can’t take anymore.
They have said they are going to go aggressive with 3 types of chemo, 2 will be administered through a line in her arm at the hospital and then she will have a pump over 46hrs for the third.
any advice on how to support her? Apart from the obvious of cooking her meals, keeping her company, helping with housework etc.
Any suggestions on helping with any side effects from the chemo?

I’m so sorry to hear this.

my dad had palliative chemo, to be totally honest he was very sick with it.

ginger biscuits helped and he craved frozen pineapple and grapefruit ice cubes.

he wasn’t allowed the ice cubes straight after chemo as he had to be careful with really hot or really cold things for his throat. but after a day or two it was fine.

she may feel like she wants to do what she normally would but her energy levels will be very low. But a short walk (around estate etc) does help.
basically no pushing or rushing to do things.

May sound daft but a pregnancy pillow.

if she doesn’t feel like eating get some of the protein milkshakes

@Sunshineclouds11 thank you for replying, and thank you for the advice, i will pick up a pregnancy pillow, she enjoys going for walks so i expect if she feels up to it that would be a good idea.
i will make sure to get some milkshakes in for next week just incase, thank you again
