Hi lovelies,

im going to try and cram in as much as i can whilst keeping it short and sweet.

in feb 2024 I had a cat 1 c-section for my twins at 30 weeks. (This is important) in November 2024 my first smear was done (I was 25, now 27) it came back positive for High risk HPV with no abnormal cells. I was told to come back in a years time but due to having 5 children and one with complex medical needs there was never time to focus on me.

At the end of 2025 my periods suddenly went from 5-6 days to 9-11 days with a lot heavier bleeding but still regular. I just didn’t again take any notice at the time. Forward to January this year and I finally noticed that my periods were lasting way too long with me having the occasional bleed inbetween periods.

my symptoms now are

-pain during sex
-increased length and flow of periods
-severe pain during periods around the area the lump is on my cs scar.
-increased discharge
-constant nausea but no vomiting
-7kg of weight loss unintentionally in under 90 days (works out to be 7% of body weight lost)
-extreme pelvic and back pain
-possible incisional hernia/scar endometriosis
-numbness in legs and achy legs& feet at night
-severe exhaustion.
-dizziness

last month I had a repeat smear and urgent pelvis ultrasound internal and external. Which found a hernia and another a potential hernia on my c-section scar/ scar endo. Alongside a bulky heterogeneous uterus, suspected Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. But nothing that lead them to believe I had cervical cancer. My smear test results came back last week showed still positive for HPV but now with low grade abnormal cell changes. I have a colposcopy tomorrow and I won’t lie when I say I am petrified that I’m going to have cancer, and I know that sounds stupid but I have most symptoms that are continuing to worsen and now affect my day to day life. I have been referred to gynaecology but that will still be a few months wait.

anyone else experienced this. Any positive/negative experience welcome I need the brutal truth as I am petrified even tho it is looking likely to be some other gynaecological issue rather than cancer itself but I just need reassurance.

sorry for the long post, I tried my best to shorten it🥴

So sorry to hear about this. I hope somehow you’ll be seen by gyne sooner than “a few months”. I have no experience with this but wanted to send support.

Hi, yes I have had HPV Positive with no cell change and then a year later HPV Positive with borderline cell changes. I had a Colposcopy and Biopsies were taken. It turned out to be fine with a check again in 3 years.

Inmy experience, when they found something they weren't sure of on the ultrasound, they had me back much quicker, so hopefully that is reassuring? As in there wasn't anything they were very worried about? But it's good that they are sending you to gynae and hopefully get you some help-there are lots of options for heavy bleeding and you can decide what is best for you.

It might be a few months wait for your gyne app but if your colposcopy is tomorrow, you’ll get the results you need following that won’t you? I might be being dim so sorry if so, but trying to say it won’t be a few months (when the gyne app is) until you find out so hopefully your mind will be eased on that front soon ish xx
