Worried about oral cancer

I have a lump on my tongue that won't go away, so I'm seeing a maxillofacial surgeon tomorrow on the 2ww pathway.

I'm scared..

I have no idea about yours ( obviously) but I had a lump on my tongue a few years ago. Maxfax surgeon removed it (much easier than expected) and it was benign and has never returned.
