Best anti emetic to ask for?

Just started chemo tablets I have been given metoclopramide but I’ve take as prescribed but Im quite sick… any suggestions? Thank you. 🙏

Sorry you’re unwell OP 💐I don’t take it for chemo sickness (chronic migraine), but Prochlorperazine has been a life-changer for me, and I know it is prescribed for chemo patients. You can get in different forms if you struggle to swallow. Hope you find something that works.

Thank you all, I’ve seen by the hospital and been prescribed Ondansetron, fingers crossed it works. I was not relishing being sick everyday for 6 weeks, along with daily radiotherapy. One day at a time x

Also Aprepitant is good. The metoclopramide did nothing for me.

Oh sending you good wishes. I was prescribed metoclopramide with my first cycle and it gave me tummy cramps and diarrhoea so I've been given something else- domperidone. So far still feeling a teensy bit queasy so not sure if it's going to be an improvement. Ondesansetron has the reverse effect- constipating. All about a balance maybe.

Hi does Aprepitant do anything about the taste in your mouth please? Maybe I'm expecting too much. The metal rancid taste is just so bad.

much better on the ondansetron, in fact just taking once a day, for now, so not bunged up yet! Fingers crossed!

I'm sorry I can't remember. I think the steroids did that.
