Anyone else waiting for breast biopsy results after a mammogram recall?

Yet another “waiting for biopsy results” thread…
I was recalled after a mammogram. They saw 2 suspicious areas both in the mammogram and in the ultrasound, then took biopsies from the 2 sites.
I have been relatively calm, but I will get the results tomorrow and my mind is whirring.
Anybody else currently in the same boat?

Me. I was recalled yesterday. Had an ultrasound and biopsy and a marker clip inserted. Results not until next Wednesday though so have another week to get through.

Hi, I had my first mammogram in March. I had a letter within a week asking me to go to the breast clinic at the hospital for an ultrasound and another mammogram - not unusual for a first timer. They were not happy with my mammogram results so wanted to do a core needle biopsy while using the ultrasound. They did this with local anesthetic, which was fine. They also placed a titanium marker for future reference incase I would need further investigation. I received a phone within 2 weeks of that appt and was told the results were inconclusive and that I would need to go back for a vacuum assisted biopsy while having a mammogram, which I did yesterday. This was because they needed more tissue to examine. I have been told it could take between 3 and 6 weeks for results. The waiting part is the most difficult part. These people do an incredible job and the technology now is amazing. I have found the best way to take my mind off it all is to keep busy and stay as positive as is possible, I know this is not easy. Talk about it too, sharing your worries with a loved one or a good friend really does help.

So sorry that you are also waiting, @Followthattaxi and @McGeeeee !

My recall was last Monday and I have been ok so far, kept myself busy and managed not to google. It’s getting harder to distract myself now, though.

Fuck it, it’s cancer. Appointment with a surgeon next week.

@MidLifeWomansorry to hear your bad news.
This was me last August from a routine mammogram. I’m now 7 months on from surgery, 5 months from radiotherapy and 5 months into a 5 year sentence of Letrozole (coping ok so far). I didn’t need chemo.
Don’t do Google, stick to MacMillan or Breastcancernow websites and join their forums for support. There’s also plenty of lovely knowledgeable women on MN cancer threads too.

I seem to have a village that has already rallied around. I am quite lucky.
