Returning to HRT after chemotherapy

I'm hopeful of some advice or the experiences of others.

Pre chemo for blood cancer I was on HRT (sequential) and still getting regular periods. I was prescribed Norethisterone during treatment to stop my periods. Treatment ended six months ago and I've been given the go ahead to start HRT again. The problem is, my periods haven't returned and advice from oncologist has been limited. Am waiting on a GP appointment to discuss.

Has anyone else got experience of returning to HRT after chemo and changes to their cycle? how was it managed?

I am still relatively young and my cycles were regular then chemo absolutely f’d everything up. They’re stopped completely, I think it’s put me into an early menopause and I’m so sad I don’t think my periods will return. My oncologist said that when I’ve finished treatment they can check my bloods and a few other things to see where I’m at.

I know that’s not what you’re asking exactly, I’m assuming you’re in menopause if you’re taking HRT but they should be able to do blood tests at a bare minimum. Do you have a specialist care nurse you can ask? I find them more approachable sometimes.

Thanks. I do have an appointment with a specialist care nurse in a couple of weeks. If I don't get anywhere before that I will totally ask her. Tried the ANP at my GP last night who literally said she couldnt help me!
