Neck lump ENT appointment

Hi,
So I have had a lump on my neck for 6 weeks under my left ear near the jaw. I was reffered on the 2 week pathway for blood test and an ultrasound which I had yesterday.
The blood tests are all clear, however the in the ultrasound appointment they said, it look like I've got a few enlarged lymnodes and he needs to discuss results with his colleague. I came out with a leaflet about having a FNA biopsy. He didnt confirm whether I was having one though.
Today I had a call to arrange an appointment with the ENT department which will be next friday morning.
I asked if it was for a biopsy and she said it was the discuss the results and my symptoms.
How come I have to go to the hospital to discuss the results and why wouldn't they be sent to my GP? Does it mean theres something wrong? Or is it good news that I haven't been booked in for a FNA?
It's so hard waiting for answers.

It’s because you’ve been referred to the hospital. Your care now falls under the hospital department and not the GP because of the referral. I’ve had several FNA biopsies. In my experience, if they are concerned, they’d always do the biopsy there and then as it’s part of the ultrasound. It sounds like maybe they weren’t sure there was anything worrying, but the consultant may still want it done, but wants to see you first.
