Sarcoma advice

My DH has had a lump on his side for a few months. It recently got bigger and we went to the drs. He was referred to for an ultrasound scan which he had a couple of weeks ago. He then had a phone call for an appointment for an MRI scan and told that he was on the 2WW for suspected soft tissue sarcoma.
He's had his MRI and we are now waiting for the results. We are both completely terrified (hence my username) and would welcome any advice from people who’ve been in a similar situation, thank you.

Waiting for scan results is just so awful - have they given you any idea of how long it will be?

I’ve had soft tissue sarcoma but it was a very long time ago (1977/8) and treatment will have moved on a lot

Thank you for replying. They’ve said we should hear within the next week. To be honest , it’s all happened very quickly which I’m relieved about as at least something is happening but each day feels like a year at the minute.

Nothing compares with the waiting period - it’s torture. I really hope you hear very quickly.

Where are you based?

Hello. How are you both? I went through this myself. Lump discovered upper arm in September. Very quickly seen, diagnosed and surgery arranged 5 weeks later. Very difficult to process due to the speed of it all but very grateful too. I feel I’m out the other side of it now. We didn’t cope well at the start at all and I’m not ashamed to admit that we needed medication for a few days to get through the anxiety and trauma of it all. DH didn’t fare so well trying to keep the house running, take care of the children and support me. Recovery has been slow. But feel much better now and glad it’s out. Has your DH had his results?
