I had severe iron deficiency anaemia and had 4 units of blood and a iron infusion. As I was so anaemic I have had some investigations done. So far I have been told I have a thick endometrial lining and polyps and was told that this could be cause if anaemia due to very heavy heavy periods I thought were OK as seen GP many times. I have had hysteroscopy done waiting on results. 3 weeks after transfusion i have had a retest of blood Platelets are now over 1000 amd haemoglobin 130 and white blood cells 11.1 and neutrophils 8.0. They weren't this high before the transfusion. Now am worried it might be something bad. As Platelets when high can be sign of cancer?. Still wait on reply from GP. Anyone else been in this situation. My fella is not supportive he cries and thinks I am going to die. My head is mashed and I can't concentrate in work and have been taking days off for hospital appointments and tests and I feel a bit down. Waiting on other tests too.
