Followed by colonoscopy, Dr has requested a CT scan and family member is accompanied ‘for support’ when they receive results in two weeks.

Has anyone been in this position and would be willing to share their outcome? I fear it will be a cancer diagnosis, our familys third one in 18 months.

Were they given the results of the colonoscopy ?
Do you know if any biopsies were taken at the time ?

When I had my colonoscopy following a positive FIT I was told straight afterwards by the person doing the colonsoscopy that there was an obvious tumour (which I could see for myself on the screen as they were doing it) that they were 99.9% sure was cancerous. Although this would be only 100% confirmed by the biopsy they'd taken, they tattooed my bowel in preparation for expected surgery as part of the colonoscopy itself and referred me to my preferred treatment hospital for a CT scan which I had the next day.

I had surgery to remove the part of the bowel with the tumour about six weeks later and have had no after effects.

Cancer comes but then it goes for most people. I stay strong through all painful moments.

Mine was over 200 but it wasn’t cancer.

From my experience, and that of friends, they usually tell you during the colonoscopy what they have found, and then the results of a biopsy are confirmed shortly afterwards.
