Adjuvant chemo

Has anyone here had chemo from an oncotype test, after surgery?
im waiting for my results, after surgery, and the book I was given said 12 weeks, once every 2-3 weeks which is what my consultant alluded to.
I was just wondering about experiences of this, hair loss, side effects etc.

Im having Chemotherapy following surgery for Breast cancer for reason of grade 3 cell growth.
I've had fortnightly chemotherapy so far, but it could have been three weekly, it's about how well you cope with it.
I've had hair loss mainly following the second cycle of chemotherapy. Has anyone mentioned Cold capping to you?

Noone has really mentioned anything other than the testing. My consultant alluded to it being unlikely I’ll need it as my biology was “only” grade 1 and a 1.9cm tumour but I feel like I need to prepare myself.
Chat GPT said hair loss was less with adjuvant chemo, is that not true I assume! Xx

I think it depends on the chemotherapy used. I'm on EC and it's a side effect.

Breast cancer now has some good forums, it might be a place to post and get a wider response.

It depends on the drug used, the strength and if it is tablets or iv. The one I am on isn't related to hair loss and it hasn't even thinned slightly.

Ah ok thank you both. It’s hard when you don’t know anyone to ask. Plus I’m still in the holding area if you like if this whole thing as the test isn’t back. @HarryVanderspeigle@Tumbleweed24

I finished CAPOX before christmas and it was 12 weeks. It was 12 weeks if feeling generally unwell but I carried on working.

Hi OP

I have. I had 7 lots. Three lots of one drug and four of another. I used the cold cap which reduced the amount of hair I lost. The biggest side effect for me was fatigue.
I rang MacMillan for a big chat about treatment, they were great answering specific medical questions.

I had adjuvant chemo for breast cancer. 8 rounds. 4 of EC and 4 Paclitaxel. Fortnightly. I lost all my hair despite using the cold cap.
I don’t think being adjuvant lessens hair loss. Hair loss is due to the drugs used and almost all chemo drugs have hair loss as a side effect.
Cold cap works for some to reduce it but as someone who used it and lost all their hair I can say it doesn’t work for everyone.
Best of luck with your treatment.

Thank you for replying, it’s just different for everyone isn’t it!
