Hard egg sized lump 6 weeks after lumpectomy

I had a lumpectomy 6 weeks ago for invasive ductal cancer and now that the bruising and general swelling has gone down I have a hard, almost egg sized lump where the cancer was removed. My boobs are not big and it is quite noticeable. I'm going to phone the nurse in the morning but wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

I'm about 8 weeks post lumpectomy.
My scar tissue feels like a lump in the same way as the cancer did, but I've been assured by the oncologist that it is just the scar tissue.
Definitely call your unit and discuss it, they are there to support you.

I had this and it was full of yellow puss like material when finally examined. Get it looked at now. Simple infections happen sometimes during these procedures and need to be sorted quickly.

after my lumpectomy I had a lump where surgery happened. It was a seroma and I had it drained.

Thank you all for replying. I'm away from home for a couple of days so will call the nurse when I'm home to see if I can get it looked at. I don't think it's infected as not sore/no redness but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again x

Some times the lump needs drained even if no obvious signs of infection. Need to be careful nurse doesn’t palm you off. I saw the surgeon who performed the op before it was properly diagnosed. Please don’t wait. Mine unfortunately also got further infected after drainage so be watchful.
