Hi I'd really appreciate some ideas please. For a lady 70s who doesnt really read much normally to keep her entertained while having treatment. Something engaging but obviously not scary or sad. Happy or life affirming ideally. Thank you

Agatha raisin? They are murder mysteries but very tame and light hearted, quite short and easy to read

Lianne Moriarty. Easy read but intelligent and gripping.

I used to be a real book worm but couldn’t concentrate during chemo( might be different for this lady) Magazines were easier to flip through . Do you mean. to read during the actual chemo sessions ? I used to go with comfiie headphones and nice music but it could be listening to a book too.

Bald in the land of big hair. Funny uplifting true story about cancer and chemo.

Send her something you’ve enjoyed. I read loads during my chemo sessions, and friends sent me their recommendations: it was a nice time to try out books I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen for myself. I remember reading quite a lot of C20th women’s fiction (eg Barbara Pym, Nancy Mitford) as well as some mad stuff like Frankenstein & Dracula: the nurses used to come & laugh at my choices.

The Lucinda Riley Seven Sisters series is an easy read and quite addictive. A feel good series.
