I had my thyroid cancer so long ago that I had to go hypo manually. The headache was unbelievable and built for weeks. By the peak I could barely think. I was so exhausted I was crawling to the toilet.

im not surprised you feel some side effects from the thyroglobulin. Hopefully it is short-lived since it is not supposed to stay in your system very long.

I’ve just had to google. It’s half life is 65 hours. Hopefully you’ll feel better soon.
But I thought the aim was for it be 0?

ivehadtodoanamechange · 04/11/2025 05:03

Yes. Aim is to be zero. Ive had the thyroglobulin as a test to stimulate any remaining thyroid cells. If there are any then these will need to be eliminated.

Hopefully you’re feeling better by now.

I had my op ten years ago, then the iodine then they checked by scanning. no further injection. Wonder if the protocols have changed.

They have. Thyroglobulin was a game changer for thyroid cancer treatment and follow-up testing.

I feel like I missed out. Is it catch stray meandering thyroid cells that the radio iodine has missed?

@Rummikub yes.
