Could this be lymphoma?

Hi all, just that really.

If anyone has had experiences with HL or NHL can you please tell me what the symptoms were that you had?

early 30s, I have a swelling above my collarbone (right side) which pops out more depending on what position my head/arm/shoulder is in. It’s not a pulled muscle and it does not hurt and feels like it’s fluid rather than a lump as such, hopefully that makes sense. No pain at all but very aware that it’s there now. I first noticed it around about 4 weeks ago. I haven’t been unwell at all but I am starting to notice that I’m very tired through the day even if I have slept as normal, I’m also not particularly hungry and have occasionally woken up very sweaty in the night. So naturally I have assumed the worst so I would appreciate any experiences if you are willing to share ❤️

I used the online facility that my GP practice has via WhatsApp and they have referred me for an ultrasound without an appointment with them in person (I sent photos and explained my symptoms etc) but no dates as such and no reference as to how long I might wait for it either.

I can attach a photo if needed x

I have this but at both sides, I had a scan and there was nothing there which is strange I can send you a photo of mine to see if similar if you would like .

I had a lump on my neck, 5 or so years ago, ultra sound showed it was just a “fatty lump”. I was sent straight from a telephone appointment.
Recently I’ve been diagnosed with NHL from reporting a different lump. It was an ultra sound, then a biopsy.
Try not to worry, impossible I know, but sending you straight for the ultrasound is the right thing to do. If you had an in person appointment they’d just agree that it’s a lump and send you for an ultrasound.
But just because you have a lump doesn’t mean it’s anything and even NHL can be slow growing and a watch and monitor situation. Always better to get it checked. Good luck.

Sorry, forgot to say, no other symptoms of which I was aware, apart from itchy skin, but then am menopausal and tired and night sweats etc come with the territory.

Dh had extreme night sweats, very swollen neck so much so that he could no longer fasten his shirt collar, extreme fatigue. This all came on in the space of a few weeks. He was aged 38 at the time, he's now 62.

Apologies forgot to mention he had HL.

Yes please, it would be good to see if it’s similar to mine.

but how strange they couldn’t find anything at your scan! Did they do any further tests for you?

@Banaghergirl @SpikeStoker Thank you for sharing your experiences ❤️

@SpikeStokerdid anything come of the ‘fatty lump’ at all? Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I hope you’re on the road to recovery! And thank you, I’m trying not to worry too much. Hopefully it won’t be too much of wait for my scan.

@Kindaconcerned I had an ultrasound and an MRI scan and loads of blood tests. I noticed mine around 3 years ago. I have sent you a private message.

SpikeStoker · 15/10/2025 17:57

No the fatty lump was just that. I’m undergoing chemo at the moment. I hope you get your tests done soon. I’m giving you a hand hold as the waiting is the worst part.

My DH was diagnosed with NHL just over two years ago.

The main symptoms were he was always tired, had itchy skin, and drenching night sweats.

DH had 6 cycles of chemo, which thankfully worked, and he has been in remission since.

The waiting is awful, but try to stay positive.

Sending you <<hugs>>
