Colonoscopy after FIT test

Urgh so I'm early 40s and been having bowel issues a while but over recent months more blood and mucus. Anyway, did the fit test and score came back 128ug with the words high risk of cancer. So I'm now waiting for the date for the colonoscopy. I'm also waiting for another stool test results to come back which I think looks at inflammation and I have a blood test next week. I'm trying not to catastrophise but I am. What was everyone else's fit scores? With a score that high was it something other than cancer?

I had a fit test reading of 254 so try not to worry had a colonoscopy 7 weeks ago and had a large polyp removed which has now come back benign se

I never knew what my FIT test score was - just that it needed further investigation via a colonoscopy. In my case it did turn out to be a tumour, which was dealt with quickly and succesfully via surgery, but I was told at the time that 9 out of 10 positive FIT tests turn our NOT to be cancer.

I've just had my first year follow up colonoscopy - the actual procedure was fine but the prep is awful.

Something to look forward to then! I'm glad they managed to treat it successfully.

I don’t know what his actual score was but dh was in a similar situation and had a completely normal result. They still don’t know what caused the bleeding / abnormal FIT test. But it wasn’t cancer. Try not to panic; easier said than done I know.
