So today I was told my return to chemo is scheduled for next Friday…eurgh….I can look forward to losing my tastebuds, a sore mouth and gums hurting.

So today I have eaten almost an entire passion fruit cheesecake washed down with Pimms 😊

What have you indulged in before starting or returning to chemo? Or what are you looking forward to eating or drinking again when you finish chemo?

Sounds good to me. I’ve got chemo tomorrow so had fish and chips, an Aperol spritz and about to have a mini magnum! I don’t seem to tolerate fatty food very well after treatment 😱

I'm not on traditional chemo, I'm on tablets (loads of them!) for my cancer. I have to have an operation and it means not taking the drugs for a week before the op. Which means I can have a glass of wine!!! Not drunk since Nov. I'll fall straight over.

It might sound yucky - for me it's a) warm Lucozade, b) warm Coke and a Ginger biscuit I can dunk.
My Cancer ward gave me a prescription for Nystatin for the mouth thrush - it works well.

I can’t tolerate fatty foods during chemo either. I developed a liking for Warburtons wholemeal thin bagels with a smidge of butter.

That doesn’t sound yucky at all. My chemo gave me really sensitive teeth, I couldn’t eat anything cold or hot so everything had to be warm. x

Today was my birthday so along with 11 tablets , I had a bit of wine, pizza, beautiful cake and champagne! 🤷‍♀️😂❤️

My next chemo ( IV) will be in 2 weeks. My mouth has taken a battering ( oral thrush, inflamed gums/ tongue). This week I’ve indulged in frazzles crisps, cheese, sweets, soft baguette, ice cream, coffee and fruit. The crisps hurt my mouth, but I still eat them! 🙈

Post chemo, in on cheese and crackers, toast, broth and poached eggs.

Exactly! It is literally those foods.

@Enigma54 Crisps - yes - every so often I indulge in a) Doritos (tangy cheese), b) Kettle crisps - there're lightly salted and taste of potato - potato flavour crisps! - who'd have thought!

I tested paprika Pringles today. Sadly a no, as they hurt my mouth. Maybe one at a time, instead of half the tube? 🤔
