Could this be BC?

I’m not sure if this is linked or not but I started continual progesterone in January and had breast tenderness in both breast straight away. Thought it would eventually go but it hasn’t. Both breasts are tender, sore and like before a period but the left breast is especially bad. It’s sore, swollen and now has a large long dense lump just up from the nipple. Lump feels long like a kind of shelf and doesn’t move. Breast is so swollen bras don’t feel and if anything make the pain worse.
Saw the Gp 3 weeks ago and to return next week when if it hasn’t gone will refer me to the breast clinic on the two week pathway.

Does anyone have any experience of anything similar happening to them?

NICE guidelines say anyone with a breast lump should be referred on the 2 week waiting list. Don’t take no for an answer.

Yes it could be BC, although there are also lots of other benign things it could be. You need to get it checked out. Good luck.

Thanks you. I go back to the Gp on Tuesday. It’s such bad timing as away on holiday 1st sept. I was feeling ok about it all but now having a major wobble.
The mass is about 3.5 inches long by 2 wide. Feels solid and doesn’t move. But both breasts feel tender but the left is especially sore.

If it’s very sore it’s hopefully something relatively harmlesslike mastitis. I hope it gets sorted quickly.
