Lumpectomy

Hello,

I dont really think I belong on this board, but im not sure where else to ask. I've got a fast growing mass, that is likely to be a PASH or phyllodes. I had a PASH diagnosis 18 months ago, but it seems thats in doubt now. It looks likely I'll be having a lumpectomy in short order. I manage a care home, I deal with heavy m&h, some challenging behaviours, and all my residents require full personal care and full continence care. I am on immunosuppressants - anti tnf injections if that makes any difference.

I have absolutely no idea how long I'll be off and I need to try to plan to ensure all my residents and team are well cared for while I'm off. What should I expect? The mass is inner upper but central, and about 4cm long and wide.

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask about this x

I think each and every case is different.

For a starting point, I had a lumpectomy. It was breast cancer, but caught early, and was a pea sized lump that I felt. I then had to have further treatment, and it was 4 months before I started a phased return to work, but my work was mostly sitting at a lap top. I was not dealing with anything physical and not dealing with clients who might have challenging behaviour.

Sending you Flowers as I know how worrying it can be, but this is a time to look after yourself. It is your Manager's role to worry about work.
