Is this skin cancer?

My partner has this red lesion on the side of his torso. It’s slightly raised and scaly. He’s had it a couple months and it’s not going, thought it was a bit at first. got a GP appointment. Does it look like skin cancer?

Looks fungal to me but get it checked obviously.

Nobody on here can diagnose anything from this photo, so best to get checked asap. If it is a risk of BCC (basal cell carcinoma) it will be biopsied and removed, usually a small incision and a few stitches. A very slow forming and (relatively) harmless form of the big C. My DH has sad several removed from his face over the years. I wish you well and hope it’s nothing more sinister x

Thank you both. GP tomorrow so I’ll keep you posted. I’m just worrying and oveethinking as recently lost my dad to a kidney cancer which had metastasised to liver, lung, bones and brain with no symptoms. Only when started getting hear aches was it discovered - he died 6 weeks later x

@YumYa, thankfully nothing serious. A skin infection of some sort, given cream and it’s cleared up
