If you have had breast cancer, and taking tamoxifen for 10 years, is there anything safe you can take to relieve menopause symptoms?

Would welcome any wisdom. For example people tell me magnesium is helpful but don’t want to introduce any risk

I am on Tamoxifen but my periods stopped with chemo and no bleeding since. I was told sometimes they return after chemo but I think as I was 48 in chemo and close to menopause start they stopped. I am concerned there are no checks on the uterus during Tamoxifen though I think the added uterine cancer risk is after 5 years. My pharmacist told me that they are supposed to do uterine scans when on Tamoxifen but 3 years in I've not had one.

I think it can be normal for periods to stop and then restart then stop around the menopause but I would be happier with a scan in that situation.

Looked into the Venaflaxine and my research shows it can cause insomnia.

The magic one I was on during chemo treatment was Mirtazapine- slept so well on that but it makes you hungry and I put a lot of weight on which when you’re told to keep your weight down and stable after cancer treatment isn’t great.

Just another 7 years to go then I can stop taking them!

That’s very interesting about the scans. I have messaged my GP for an appointment in any case because I want a scan just to check it out.

I never had any uterine scans at all.
