Breast Clinic next week

I have an appointment on Tuesday to have a lump looked at the breast Clinic (2 weeks referral). I just checked my NHS app and there's an entry in the waiting list section for breast surgery . Do you think this is a mistake or do you think the docs think I'm going to need surgery (it's a pretty big lump)? I was anxious before but after seeing that in the app my anxiety has sky rocketed.

It can take a several weeks to recover fully. You will have to wear a skintight sports type bra (which they should give you) for 24 hours a day (apart from a shower) for a few weeks post surgery. From what I can remember I wore mine for about a month. They to leave it on even though it’s tight as it really helps with swelling. Your surrounding chest muscles may also feel a little sore. Please don’t be worried about the initial look of the scar. It will flatten down and fade as time goes on. Wishing you all the very best .

My recovery was incredibly easy. One day in bed and then slowly back to normal 5 days later absolutely fine.

My surgery is tomorrow (was postponed for a week). Struggling to sleep tonight!

All the very best tomorrow. You’ll go to sleep and when you wake up you’ll be on your way to getting through this thing. My operation was a year ago this week. Pain was very well controlled and the operation /anaesthetic was nothing to fear.

I was scared too on the morning of my surgery (I cried all morning) but honestly waiting to have the is the hardest part. By this time tomorrow the tumour will be out and you’re on your way to recovery. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you all. Surgery went well, feeling really sore today and loving the compression socks 😂
I'm still adjusting to my limits on what I can and can't do. Thankfully I have help at home.
Booked in for results on the 23rd

Glad it went well. I'm sure the compression socks are a joy. Hopefully you can remove them before the heatwave! Best luck for the results

Congratulations! I hope all the biopsies on your ex lump come back fine. Take care of yourself, do all the things they tell you with the management of your scar while you heal. Flowers

I couldn’t get my compression socks on! The nurse has to do it for me. So glad it all went well. You will feel sore for a bit but it will get better
