Hello

I am looking for some advice/information. I have been diagnosed with DCIS. I assume it's stage 0 as they are pre-cancer cells. I had surgery 3 weeks ago. My surgeon told me today they will have to go in again to remove more tissue as it was not successful. I will then need radiotherapy.

Has anyone here had radiotherapy? If so, what can I expect? Does it hurt? Will it burn the skin, how longs was your treatment?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

I'm currently having radiotherapy, I had 16 rounds of chemo first, then a lumpectomy, and radiotherapy is the final part of my active treatment. I've had 11 out of 15 sessions. It's very quick, and the treatment itself is painless. I've just had slight pinkness to the skin, but nothing else. Although I know that the effects peak 2 to 4 weeks after it's over, so who knows!?
