I was sent to hospital on Friday with a suspected inflamed pancreas probably due to Mounjaro. They wanted to rule out gall stones so had an ultrasound sound, then a CT scan and the discovery of a lesion on my liver that seems to be as a result of either gallbladder or pancreatic cancer. I’m on the two week pathway and so sorry for my family. Other than back pain - diagnosed as muscular- over the past month I have had no symptoms.
positive thoughts please while I wait for the next step

Passing on a hand hold. My husband has also just been diagnosed so I totally understand what you and your husband are feeling. Sending a virtual hug.

Thinking of you and your family today Flowers

@Okitsme how are you doing?

SuperGinger · 21/07/2025 20:03

@MissFritton65 how is your husband?

SuperGinger · 21/07/2025 20:16

I saw you original thread a few months back just when I got the result from an MRI which found a lesion on my pancreas but didn't post then but I thought sbout you both. Today I had another MRI, my symptoms have worsened but I will need to wait for the results. I'm quite frightened

@Okitsme thank you for asking about my husband. He had a laparoscopy and they restaged him as Stage 4 so incurable which was a shock. He had a oesophageal stent fitted a couple of weeks ago and can now eat a range of soft foods having been on fortified drinks for almost 3 months. He started his chemotherapy and immunotherapy a fortnight ago and is coping well. He's still working and amazingly positive.
How are you coping? X

MissFritton65 · 21/07/2025 20:43

@SuperGinger I'm really sorry to hear things have worsen - it's definitely scary! Plus nothing seems to happen quickly so there is so much waiting which is so horrible. Sending virtual hugs and hope that they put a treatment plan in soon. Xx

MissFritton65 how are you coping it must be very hard on you, do you have a good support network? He sounds amazing still working.

MissFritton65 · 21/07/2025 22:15

@SuperGinger he is amazing! Working has helped us both as it gives another focus; our oncologist said if you can work it is better but obviously not everyone can. We have family but they don't live locally however we have an amazing group of friends who have been fantastic; we are very lucky in so many ways!
The stent had been life changing as he wasn't able to eat or drink much as everything tasted horrid and he struggled to swallow it but his taste has returned to "normal" and he can manage a wide range of food - we had an Indian takeaway last night for the first time in 4 months; it was delicious!

She wrote a post yesterday to say she’s been given weeks to live and had to been asking for advice on what to eat during this time.
