How to come off tamoxifen

Hello

I am coming up to 5 years on tamoxifen and cannot wait to come off it. It's been pretty grim at times. However I'm struggling to find clear information about stopping. I rang my breast care nurse and she wasn't sure; she asked the consultant who said just stop. When I Google I find a lack of advice.

I'm starting to take half a tablet now and will stop in a few weeks. I don't know if that's right but it makes sense to me logically.

Just wondered if anyone else had any ideas.

I was prescribed Tamoxifen for 10 years and just stopped taking it with no problems.

Same here, just stop, don't recall any issues.

I think they say just to stop it if you’re happy to.

Thanks for the messages. I'm cutting down, it seems like it's not been researched or thought about but it's a powerful drug that has radically affected my life. I'll stop when I've cut right down. I've read posts on forums which suggest there may be side effects to cutting them completely.

I was allowed to just stop, it was heaven! The constant hot flushes stopped after about 5 days I think. Five years on it was a bloody nightmare dread to think about having to take it for ten.
