Endometrial biospy

wackywombat35 · 15/03/2025 21:21

Hi everyone I'm 35 years old I had a endometrial biospy for
Almost daily pelvic pain
Low back pain worse when laying down in bed at night
Heavy periods
Irregular periods
Frequently need to wee
And diarrhea that comes and goes
My biospy came back with high hormone levels so then a CA125 blood test was requested which came back with only slightly raised at level 36 I've now been put on the urgent pathway for a urgent ultrasound and MRI I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and how did things turn out?
Thanks for any advice

I had those symptoms (very heavy periods, pain) and procedures, but in a slightly different order (ultrasound, then MRI, then CA125 blood test with raised scores). It was fibroids (I then had the biopsy, prior to having a hysterectomy - there was no cancer). The needing to wee frequently was because of the fibroids pressing on my bladder.

Hi thank you for taking the time to comment did you have a hysterectomy due to having fibroids?

Yes, due to the fibroids.

Protegemo1 · 16/03/2025 00:11

Hi, try not to worry. Urgent pathway is a precaution.
I had similar symptoms- ultrasound then mri showed large fibroid, surgery to remove fibroid found severe endometriosis. All removed but no hysterectomy needed (I was also mid 30s & still hoping to have kids).

Thank you for taking the time to reply maybe mine will turn out to be fibroids

It's a lot more likely than cancer.

littlemissprosseco · 16/03/2025 16:32

I had the same
It was endometriosis, with adenomyosis thrown in!!

No, you’ll need to wait for the results.

wackywombat35 · 21/03/2025 09:59

Hi do you think I will be told today at the ultrasound if everything looks ok

No, you’ll need to wait for the results.

Oh, sorry, I was thinking the result of the biopsy. With the scan, they can tell you then and there if there are fibroids.

wackywombat35 · 21/03/2025 10:21

Oh I've had the results of the biospy so my biospy results for endometrial didn't show cancer but I've been told they are showing changes whatever that means I ain't got a clue

Just wondering if anyone knows what other medical conditions can cause high hormone levels but not pregnancy I'm definitely not pregnant but my hormone levels are high can fibroids cause this?

Yes, fibroids contain higher levels of oestrogen than normal uterine tissue does. But it's quite reciprocal, I think, since higher levels of oestrogen also cause fibroids to grow.

Hi
Update had my scan and I'm still none the wiser 🙃 they wouldn't tell me if everything looked ok only said my GP will ring me with results
