So worried about my mum

Hi everyone,
Im not really sure why I'm posting here, I think I'm hoping for some reassurance.
My mum is 66, smoked for most of her life until 6 years ago. She is fit and active. She has had a cough since Christmas and today there was blood in her phelgm. She went to the gp, he checked her over and said all sounded fine on her chest/lungs but sent her for an xray which she had done today (Friday).
I'm just so so worried that there will be something awful found.
I'm not even sure how long the results will take?! Any information greatly appreciated. 😞

Doesn't sound anything too worrying about the length of time having the cough or bringing some blood up to be honest can be very common in chronic chest infections / bronchitis. Hopefully the x Ray confirms nothing sinister soon
