Mole has turned darker

I have noticed one of the moles on my arm has become darker than the other moles around it. I’m not sure how long it’s been changing, but I’ve looked back on photos from a few months ago and the mole looks lighter. It was brown and now it’s turned very dark brown almost black coloured. I know photos aren’t always reliable though because of lighting and it can be blurred. But to me it definitely looks lighter on the photos.

My DS pointed it out the other day and said “what’s that black dot on your arm”? so it’s obviously something noticeable to other people now.

All of the other moles in the same area are their usual colour, so Google says it’s an “ugly duckling mole”. I’m going to book myself in at the doctors on Monday. I’m terrified because I’m scared I have left this too late.

Hand hold. I have had two moles removed and biopsied - one as a child went through extreme and scary changes, the other appeared from nowhere on my face in my 40s. It is scary but you are doing the right thing. It should move quite fast. There are only some things you can control here and you are doing those things. The wait is the worst. I was lucky in both cases, so it isn’t a 100% certainty it is cancer. Good luck x

Hi, thank you for your message. And I’m so glad you had a good outcome both times.
This mole has gone darker within the past 7 months because the photo I compared it to was from July last year and it looks much lighter.
I’m just trying to keep as busy as possible. Hopefully as you say it will all move quickly.
