Lump on floor on mouth?

Shopaholic88 · 05/02/2025 10:17

I’ve found a lump on the floor of my mouth. It’s hard and not painful so I’m worried it’s something sinister. I’ve booked in with the dentist next week and I’m trying not to freak out but it’s hard not to.
Has anyone experienced similar?

The commonest problem here is a stone blocking the salivary duct in the floor of the mouth. Normally they flush out by themselves, but can get infected and occaisionally need treatment.

However , as with any lesion in the mouth , see a dentist as they can see, diagnose and treat or refer on as necessary .

Wouldn’t it be painful if it was an infection? It doesn’t hurt at all.

Yes I have one - had it for years - had an ultrasound as could feel it with my tongue - was referred to hospital by dentist - it is a torus
Mine is on the right bottom inside of mouth I can feel it with my tongue - feels about the size of a lentil - had it for maybe 7 years and it has never got any bigger or bothered me

What colour is it? If whitish or looks like it has a blood supply, it's probably a cyst that'll go away on its own eventually.

Can you get a dentist appointment to ask them to look?

It’s more pink coloured. I’ve got an appointment next week.

I hope it isn't anything sinister, @Shopaholic88
