Recall after mammogram and MRI - scared

I'm on the high risk breast screening programme because I have brca2 gene mutation. I went for my first mammogram and breast MRI as part of the screening programme earlier this month. Didn't hear anything back so called today and was told I have to go back to see the consultant for ultrasound and possible biopsy next week because they saw something suspicious on the MRI.
I'm trying not to freak out but I'm really worried.
I was half expecting a call back because I could feel a lump in my left breast which I thought was a cyst (I've had more than I can count) and guessed they'd want to take another look. But they've found something on my right breast.
Not sure why I'm posting other than for a hand hold. I'm not talking to anyone about it IRL apart from DH because I don't want to worry anyone unnecessarily.
Anyone got any positive stories of recalls that were totally fine? And what about the biopsy? Is that painful? I was planning on going straight to the office afterwards but will I be feeling too sore afterwards?

Six years ago my, sister, my friend and I all got recalled within the same two weeks. Mine was a cyst which she drained to make sure, my sister’s was just an unclear picture and my friend did have breast cancer. She went on to have a lumpectomy and is absolutely fine. Waiting is horrible, so sending you positive thoughts.
Edited to say that the needle thingy was painless.

Thanks @PinkTonic . I appreciate that. What a coincidence that you all got recalled at the same time.

I've had cysts aspirated several times so I'll be totally fine it that's all that happens. I'm scared it'll be something more sinister though.

It's an anxious time for you of course. I hope DH will go with you and don't worry about the office, I wd just say I am having a procedure.

My cancer was caught at a family history clinic, it was at an early stage. I had a lumpectomy and was off work for nearly a year. I am better now and back at work.

I hope all is ok for you but worst case scenario if it is cancer it being picked up early is a huge plus.

Plan something nice for afterwards, maybe a night away at the weekend.

Good luck and look after yourself.

Oh gosh @culturevulture1984 , I'm glad you're OK now and it was caught early but it sounds like you've been through the mill. Was the year off because you do a physical job or is that standard whatever your job?

I just took the time I needed to recover and get well and I'm glad I did.

It's so important to be gentle on yourself and prioritise your health.

I'm back at work now and glad I took the time, I'm in an office job, some was on half pay.

Like you I preferred to remain private while I got my head around it all. Things were uncertain for a while before medical plan emerged.

Try not to worry ahead of time, sending all good wishes.

Thanks @culturevulture1984 . I not very good at taking time for myself. Something to work on!

Had ultrasound today. There's something in my armpit which the radiologist didn't think was malignant but did a biopsy to be sure.

Oh bless you. If it helps, I had a number of lumps biopsied last year including an armpit lump. Was terrified. But the radiologist said the same to me - didn’t think they were cancer but didn’t know what they were. He was right. I can’t remember what they were because I ran out of the consultants office as fast as I could when I got the all clear. Good luck!

Thank you @BoilingHotand50something

I hope you hear soon.🤞🤞🤞

Found a lump April 22, had a mammogram, got recalled for ultrasound and biopsy. Biopsy was ok, slight bruising, that’s all. I’m here if you have any questions. Good luck.

Thanks @culturevulture1984 and @BunnysTailFluff
I hope to have results in the next week.

Got the all clear from the biopsy thankfully. It was a fibroadenoma. They want to do another MRI in 3 months though.

Wonderful news.

Makes sense to keep a very close eye on it.
