Lump in armpit

I have found what I think is a lump high up in my armpit. I am 50 and on HRT. I am going to make a GP appointment on Monday but in the meantime can anyone offer any words of support? So worried that the HRT has triggered this, it has made me feel so much better mentally but has also given me sore boobs which I have told my GP about. Trying not to go into full blown panic! Thanks

This happened to me and it was a benign cyst. You're right to get it checked out but the overwhelming chance is you're totally fine. When I went to the breast clinic the surgeon told me that not everyone even has breast tissue there, and 95 percent of armpit lumps he sees are totally benign. I hope this is the case for you, but please call on Monday and then you'll be closer to putting your mind at ease.

Oh thank you so much. That's such a reassuring post and I really hope this is the case for me. It's quite high up. I am trying hard not to keep poking and prodding as I am making it sore! So pleased everything was OK for you.
