Hello.
i just want to some advice please( i have rung the GP about this today)

My son had a wart removed a year ago and this came back in its place.

first pic- August 2024
second pic- October
third pic- today.

i took him to GP about this twice one said it was a granuloma annulare the other said it was a wart. Over the months it seems to be getting more sore, the texture is very strange

he has been extremely pale, off food and complaining of pain in his legs. GP has requested a blood test for these symptoms

Could this be skin cancer?

I have granuloma annulare and it looks nothing like your photo I've also had skin cancer and it was similar.

I’m sorry to hear that.

I'm sorry, OP, and I'm not a doctor, but I would request an urgent referral for a lesion like that.

I spoke to GP receptionist today. She said next appointment is for 2 weeks time what can I do to try get an earlier one?
He’s only 7 year old and just hasn’t been himself at all

When warts die they do go all black like in the last photo however no one can diagnose on her op but your seeing the dr so that's best

morellamalessdrama · 21/01/2025 16:52

Ring in the morning and request an urgent same day appointment. They should have ways to see people the same day when needed.

morellamalessdrama · 21/01/2025 16:53

I'm sure it's fine but best to check.

We consulted a doctor about a suspicious mole when DS was 7ish too. Turned out to be just a mole. Doctors were clear it was vanishingly rare for children to have moles turn out to be skin cancers.

WhatMe123 · 21/01/2025 17:07

Isnt this just a re growth of the same wart. The hpv virus can stay in the skin and the. Grows back again. The wart looks like it's dying off now

Beanso · 21/01/2025 17:23

Just wanted to hopefully reassure you as I have melanoma and my mole looked nothing like that but don’t be fobbed off, try and get a same day appointment tomorrow as any lesion that changes should be looked at urgently. Also can you find out if they tested the wart to confirm what it was? Did a dermatologist remove it and can you go back to them directly instead of the GP?

I’m really sorry to hear that,
the GP didn’t test to the wart when it was first removed, then this appeared around 2 months after. I did think it was just the wart growing back but seems to be getting a lot worse now

I was also told this when my DD had a mole on her food that was a strange shape - I'd suggest a second opinion though as you're clearly worrying

Update
A GP rang me today after seeing pics I sent in, she says it’s a wart which is inflamed. Prescribed antibiotic cream

This is exactly what dd2 had. It went more and more black and then it actually fell off, there was a lot of blood when that happened, she pulled the scab off as she pulled her trousers down and then it slowly heeled. The hpv virus can stay in the skin so this is why the warts can grow back as did with your son

StarDolphins · 23/01/2025 21:20

It looks like a wart that’s come & is now dying to me! I had them loads as a kid & they went like this.
