My 5 year old has a mole on his back near his armpit and I noticed last night that it appears to be darker and more prominent. I have no photo reference to what it was like before so obviously wondering if it is just me and it has always been like this. Anyway I sent a photo in to the GP and they want an appointment however I was told he doesn't need an urgent one, so I have been given an appointment for 2 weeks time. I know noone can tell me but has anyone had this before with their child? I'm so worried and 2 weeks feels like a lifetime away ( although I know for the NHS it is quite quick nowadays). Photos of said mole.

On the face of it, that looks like a normal mole to me. It's good you are getting it checked out, but I don't see any of the danger signs they say to look out for in moles. I know they say about new ones, but it must be different with kids as they aren't born with their moles!

The fact they've made a non urgent appointment suggests it's to reassure you - they don't mess around if they are at all worried about anyone, especially kids.
