Please just be honest and don't hold back- I would rather just know. My mother in law is 75 and has chronic COPD and has been bleeding heavily from her vagina. Her GP sent her straight to the hospital where they did an examination, ecg. No results were given.one week later ( yesterday ) they have ordered her back to the hospital for a biopsy for Monday. This isn't looking good is it? Why would they do that so quickly please if anyone knows? Thank you

I don't know OP but want to.send my warmest wishes to you all.

It's hard to say OP. It might not be.
I hope the results can put your mind at rest.

I really don’t think you can say a thing yet. Post menopausal bleeding is a symptom that gets a speedy response. But the outcome is often harmless.
Good luck to her and you.

I'm sorry about your MIL.

Any post-menopausal bleeding is a POSSIBLE indicator or endometrial cancer, and so the person will automatically be put on the 2WW (two week wait) fast track pathway for further investigation. But there are many other possible casues, and even if it was cancer, this can often be treated successfully with surgery (hysterectomy) or other means such as radiotherapy and/or hormone treatment if the patient cannot undergo surgery for any reason....

Cancer is not the automatic death sentence many people think it is, despite what some of our ill-informed poiliticians say, so please don't immediately fear the worst.
