Juices (as in juicing) that go down ok during Chemo?

Hi- recommendations, please!

Friend currently in early stages of treatment. Have been making apple, carrot & ginger but that's starting to cause a bit of indigestion for her and I think the taste has started to be affected.

The aim is to make her something beneficial that is also tasty enough not to be a chore to drink.

Thanks so much for any suggestions.

This is going to be highly specific to your friend and what's she can tolerate / side effects she is dealing with.

Chemo can cause open sores inside the mouth, oral thrush, and also change taste buds so things taste "wrong".

You'll probably want to avoid citrus and acidic fruit (unless she's enjoying it!) l. Maybe look for very ripe fruit as it'll be sweeter and less aggressive?

Bananas will be less painful generally and could make a good frozen base for ice lollies too if she has a sore mouth?

It might need to be more watery than usual as very thick drinks may be difficult to swallow.

Thank you- that's a really good start. Will take a look at the page you've linked to. 👍

Raspberry and fresh mint maybe?
Or blueberry and banana smoothie - though bananas can cause mouth ulcers in some people, so try a thimbleful first.

I was going to suggest pear and ginger but if the ginger is causing problems, maybe not.
